J.V. Cheers Add
New Spirit
To South
Chosen in the fall by a group of faculty
members. eight sophomore girls became
members of the Junior Varsity cheerlead–
ing squad. The squad's spirited enthusiasm
was demonstrated at all boys' and girls'
Junior Varsity sports events as they
cheered for both the athletes and the
crowd.
Through various fund-raising activities,
the girls hoped to raise enough money to
purchase new uniforms. With Hester Cole
and Kathy Pettice as advisors, the J.V.
cheerleaders became an active part of
school life in their first year at South. Led
by head cheerleader Sandra Aycock, the
squad showed determination and hard
work in helping to build the morale of both
students and facultv.
